Lonely

 Lonely

An original poem by: Jack Tecson

I don’t sleep like I used to.

Counting sheep doesn’t bring you back to me.

I’ve fallen far.

And I’m trying to get up again.

Take me back in time

Your heart pressed up on mine.

Freeze this moment,

And make the world bright.

But maybe I’m lonely.

Now that you’re gone.

Because I’m not the old me

And your time is up.

I’ve dreaded this day for so long.

And now I’m lonely.

Longing for your love.

I don’t sleep like I used to.

You’re in my dreams, but I don’t know where you’ve gone.

It’s been weeks since I’ve seen you.

We don’t speak,

but my heart sings the same old song.

Take me back in time.

Your heart pressed up on mine.

And I know I’m stuck in this feeling.

I don’t know how to make this right.

But maybe I’m lonely.

Now that you’re gone.

Because I’m not the old me

And your time is up.

I’ve dreaded this day for so long.

And now I’m lonely.

Longing for your love.
