POEM: Grandmother’s Love

Grandmother’s Love

AN ORIGINAL POEM

When you come calling,

I want you to see,

Who I'm trying to be.

Although I can't help but wonder...

Is it selfish to say I need you?

Because nothing compares to a grandmother’s love.

I’ll close my door.

Don’t wanna be reminded,

 Don’t wanna be seen.

Don’t wanna be without you.

So, I'll just cry.

Heartache doesn’t last forever,

I’ll say I’m fine.

Is it selfish to say I need you?

Because nothing compares to a grandmother’s love.

Now that you’re gone.

I just hope your memory is proud of me.

I might cry myself to sleep.

And imagine that you’re here with me.

As I wish that you could be here,

To give me that special love.

I know I have mom…

But both of you keep me strong.

Although I can't help but wonder...

Is it selfish to say I need you?

Because nothing compares to a grandmother’s love.
